After the way my week is going, this being Thursday and all, I have decided to list stuff I appreciate.
Sometimes it is just too easy to look at the bad stuff and get so focused and obsessed with it that I lose sight of the really simple good things that are all around me.
1) Mr. Smith
There are about a million or 20 million reasons that I am thankful for him. He does completely awesome stuff like let me sleep in three days in a row. He will go out and buy me a Peanut Butter Cup sundae from Baskin Robbins, even after he has gone to bed for the night. He brings me lunch even when he isn't hungry. But it isn't all about food or sleep. He is very free with hugs and kisses, which is the best. He is so much tougher than I am and he makes me feel stronger when I really need it.
2) Republic of Tea's Blackberry Sage Decaf Tea. I just can't handle the caffeine of regular iced tea these days. This stuff is like catnip. It doesn't taste like someone dunked a little flower-shaped guest soap in it either. That is a major plus. The Ginger Peach variety is also delish, if you like that sort of thing.
3) Grand Master H quoting Ultraman, "You poor dumb humans, your world is about to end!" It makes me laugh every single time he says it.
4) Air conditioning.
5) But I think more than just about anything else, I am thankful for this, these, them.
I am thankful that most of the time, they get along and they like each other. I am so thankful that they will go along for the ride with each other's fantasies, imaginings, ideas. I love to listen to their conversations. I hope they will stay this way. More than any other relationship, their's will serve them well through their lives.
6) I am thankful that Mr. Smith chooses to be a father, a dad, a playmate, a confidante to each of them.
Okay, I feel much better now.
How about you? What are you thankful for today?
P.S. Joke's on me. The upstairs air conditioning died. It blows hot air, if that is what you are looking for in an air conditioner. I am not. I would like some cold delicious air, thankyouverymuch.
