Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

Thanksgiving Day

We started the day with the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and some Chocolate Chip Pancakes.
I suffered through all the barbs flung by those who do not enjoy the parade.
You know who you are.
I reminded them that when a person cooks turkey and all the fixins, that person gets to
WATCH THE PARADE OR ELSE THE BIRD GETS IT!

Some people don't see the redeeming qualities of people you have never heard of lip-syncing
songs on a cheesy float.

Actually, the bird already got it. He was in the oven after his little ride home in H's booster seat with no seatbelt, which bugged C. Fortunately, I kept from blurting out that he was already dead, so a car accident at this point was the least of his worries.

We were lucky enough to have some Birney potatoes to go with our meal. If there are any potatoes that taste better than these, I have yet to find it. They literally have no equal.

That giant "queen potato" on the right? 1 pound, 13 3/4 ounces!

Here is my first roasted full turkey. I was a little nervous about getting it cooked all the way through, but it was perfect. Trader Joe's pre-brined turkey. Can't beat it.

Just tossed with olive oil, kosher salt and black pepper. Roasted at 400° for about 35 minutes.

Costume changes all day long.

And now you can see why a kid's table is essential around here. Some folks just don't have their manners at this point.

Baby C and Grammy dealt with leftovers and Mommy collapsed in a heap.
