When I was a toddler, we lived in Syracuse. My father was going to graduate school, nobody lives in Syracuse by choice.
There was a park nearby that my mother would visit on a regular basis. They had a baby elephant at the time and I became completely obsessed with this baby. His name is lost to me, misfiled somewhere in my aged brain, but I can remember petting him. His skin was actually quite soft, but they have very course hair that is prickly.
I would demand visits routinely, and of course my mother obliged.
Ever since then, I have been in love with elephants. I can't get enough of them. They are so fascinating to me.
A few days ago, I learned about this site.
It is an elephant-cam! Holy shit, do you realize how completely awesome this is?!
It allows me to watch elephants, elephants with babies (they currently have three calves under 6 months old), adult elephants, elephants swimming, elephants wrestling. I am now completely worthless. I can't get a damn thing done. Mr. Smith is more than a bit irritated.
I don't care. I am in love.
Gotta go, the elephants are calling me.
P.S. Mr. Smith calls it ENN, the Elephant News Network!
