Last week we went to the park just before the rains hit.
It was blustery and cold.
I know, not the kind of cold the rest of the nation experiences, but to sissified Southern California residents, it was pretty chilly.
My children could not have cared less. No matter what the weather, they can be counted on to romp, shoeless, wearing shorts, happy as clams to be outside and at the park.
Years ago, some landscape architect chose pine trees to surround this particular playground.
That would be fine except that every one of them is covered with these amber puffs. These are puffs that are covered with pollen. Pounds and pounds of golden dust that is blown all over with each breeze.
The entire place is covered with it, but aren't they just lovely when you get up close?
